Swapped my 4.5 grinder for a 7 incher on the last job
Big weld repair on a water tank in Tulsa, kept bogging down the small disc. Grabbed the bigger grinder off the truck, cuts so much faster even if it's heavier. Anyone else run the big one full time now or stick to what's light?
Remember the old boy at the shop who ran a 9 inch on everything? He had forearms like popeye and one bad shoulder by 55. I get why the big one cuts faster but my hands go numb after about 20 minutes of holding that weight up on a vertical seam. Been thinking of hanging mine off a spring balancer to take some of the load, just haven't rigged it up yet.
