My foreman said skip the soapy water test on our 300 gallon tank and pressure it dry, and I still can't tell if that was right
Back on a job in Gary, my foreman Dale told me not to bother with the soapy water spray on the tank seams and just run it up to 100 psi dry, said bubbling a big vessel wastes half a shift. I argued we'd miss a pinhole, but we did it his way and nothing let go. Now I'm on a different crew and the guy running it says Dale's method is asking for a blowout. Who's got it right here, dry test or soap spray?
