Dropped $450 on a tube expander that couldn't handle a 2 inch firetube, and the rep won't call back
Bought a hydraulic tube expander last month for a retube job on a 300 HP Scotch marine in Gary, and it started slipping on the second pass through 2 inch tubes. The torque specs in the manual were flat out wrong for anything past 1.5 inch, so I ate the cost plus two days of downtime waiting on a rental. Did I miss something about matching the roller size to the wall thickness, or did I just buy the wrong tool?
