Was skeptical about co-op games for years, but Pandemic Legacy proved me wrong

Honestly, I used to think cooperative board games were boring because there's no real competition. But my group convinced me to try Pandemic Legacy last summer, and after 12 sessions, I was completely hooked. The way the story evolves and the stakes keep getting higher is something competitive games just can't match. Has anyone else had a similar shift in what they like to play?

Totally get it. Co-op just hits different after legacy.

Started out hating co-op games thinking they were just "everyone loses together" simulator lmao. Then someone tricked me into playing Spirit Island and suddenly I'm yelling at my friends about how the ocean is actually a spirit we can summon to drown colonizers. It changes you man. Now I look at purely competitive games and think "nah that sounds lonely and stressful." You're not alone in that shift. Legacy games especially just hit different because every session builds on the last one and suddenly you're emotionally attached to a cardboard character named Dr. Chen who got infected three times.
