That Saturday last month when 6 of us played Dune Imperium for 11 hours straight
Honestly I still think about this one Saturday last month. My buddy Dave hosts game days at his place in Sacramento, and normally we get through 2 or 3 games and call it by dinner. This time we started Dune Imperium at 10am and somehow didn't stop until 9 at night. We played 4 full rounds back to back, ordered pizza twice, and Dave's wife just kept refilling the coffee pot and shaking her head at us. The wild part is nobody got mad or salty, which almost never happens with our group. Usually someone tanks a game and sulks for an hour, but this day everyone was just locked in. I lost all 4 rounds by the way, dead last each time, and I didn't even care. We used to do this kind of marathon thing every couple months back in our 20s, but now everyone has kids and jobs and it happens maybe once a year. Do your groups still pull off full day sessions or has it turned into quick 90 minute games only?
Reminds me of a poker night we had back in 2019 where a guy brought his camping stove and made chili at the table between hands. Six hours in, the whole room smelled like onions and we were all too full to bluff. Nobody played well after that, we just kept eating and calling every bet. His wife came home at midnight and found seven grown men half asleep with cards stuck to our arms. We never did chili night again after that.
