Switched from a 4 player to a 2 player game night and it actually got better

We tried playing 'Root' with our usual group of four last Friday, but it was a slow mess with too much arguing. My partner and I played 'Watergate' just the two of us yesterday and finished in 45 minutes with way more focus and fun. Who knew cutting the player count could fix so many problems?

Wait, isn't that more about the game than the player count? Like @king.robin said, some games just work better with two.

Oh, that's so true. My wife and I had the same thing happen with 'Wingspan' - with four people, the downtime was awful. Just the two of us, we actually got into the flow of the game and could talk strategy. It feels more like a shared puzzle to solve.
