My sister said our game nights were more about the snacks than the games, and honestly, she's not wrong.

Read an article once that called this "gamer adjacent" activity, where the prep and social stuff is half the fun. That cheese selection process sounds like its own mini game, with way more discussion than any in game move. Totally get it, our group once spent an hour debating which local pizza place to order from, effectively putting the actual game on pause.

Ever think about just making a snack rotation schedule? We got so sick of the debate every week that now someone brings the same thing each time, like chips or cookies. Takes all the stress out of it so we can actually play. Maybe try something simple like that.
