My buddy's 20 minute setup rule made me ditch 4 player games
He said if a game takes longer to set up than to play, it's not worth it. So last week I traded my Twilight Imperium copy for two quick games at my local shop in Austin. Has anyone else cut heavy games from their shelf after one comment like that?

That "20 minute setup" rule hits hard. I actually read a board game blog last month that said the same thing, talking about how people spend more time sorting tokens and reading rules than actually rolling dice. I get it, I traded my Scythe for a couple of lighter games too, and honestly I don't miss hauling out all those little plastic pieces. Now I grab something like Pandemic or Carcassonne, we're playing in five minutes and having just as much fun.
