Hot take: a guy at my Tuesday game night said my rule explanations were killing the table
He said I was reading the whole rulebook out loud before every game and people were zoning out by turn two. Now I run a solo practice round at home first and teach with a 5 minute walkthrough, and last week we got through two full games of Wingspan with nobody touching their phone. Anybody got a good way to teach heavier games without losing people?
