Appreciation post: the Catan rulebook has 4 pages of rules for a game that takes 90 minutes, and I respect it
I grabbed my copy of Catan off the shelf in my garage in Boise to check the trade rules for a game night, and the rulebook is 4 pages long. Four. A game that eats 90 minutes of my life and I can read all its rules before my coffee gets cold. Compare that to the 32 page rulebook for some games on my shelf and I want to mail those designers a copy of this thing. What game on your shelf has the best rules-to-playtime ratio?
