Rant: The old guy at the flea market in Tulsa sold me a $5 cross peen and then quietly fixed my whole setup
I was digging through a rusty box of tongs at a flea market in Tulsa last Saturday when this older guy watching my booth asked why I kept fighting my anvil's sweet spot on the horn side. He said "move your feet, not the steel" and showed me a two second stance shift with his own hammer. I tried it on a set of bottle openers when I got home and my edge set got cleaner in maybe 20 strikes instead of 50. Six years of swinging and some retired guy at a folding table just handed me the fix for free. Anyone else get their best lessons from random folks at swap meets instead of YouTube?
