Rant: Binged a show about a micromanaging boss and it hit too close to home
The way they show office politics in recent series is way too accurate. It reminds me why I left that life, but the cliffhangers keep me hooked. Perfect for a late-night watch when the kids are asleep.

Man, those shows get it right sometimes. I remember watching one where the boss would hover over everyone's shoulder, checking every little detail. It brought back memories of my old job where the manager insisted on approving every email before sending. You start to wonder if the writers have hidden cameras in offices or something. The drama might be exaggerated, but the core feeling of being watched is spot on. It's why I can't look away even though it stresses me out.

The accuracy is so spot-on it makes you wonder if the writers had bad bosses too. It's like they're sharing inside jokes about office life we all get.

Honestly that "core feeling" you mentioned gets pumped up for TV drama. Real offices are mostly boring routines, not constant watchful tension. They take a tiny grain of truth and blow it up into a whole stress factory.
