Changed my mind about chain lube after a customer's bike came back

Had a guy bring in his gravel bike last month. Chain was a mess. I told him to use wet lube, like I always did. He came back after 300 miles, chain was totally gunked up with dirt. He showed me a test from a bike magazine online. They found dry lube lasts longer on dry, dusty rides. I was wrong. What's your go-to lube for summer dust?

Guess I've been lubing my chain wrong for years, maybe that's why my bike sounds like a bag of nails.

Same here, I was just wiping the outside for ages!

Try cleaning the chain first, @the_viola (grit locks out lube).
