Stopped doomscrolling by setting a 10pm timer for my blue light filter app
I used to lay there for an hour scrolling Twitter until my eyes burned. Then I set my phone to switch to grayscale mode and dim the screen way down at 10pm sharp. It makes everything look boring as hell so I just put the phone down. Does anyone else use grayscale or is there a better trick to kill the habit?

I switched to grayscale and now my phone feels like a 1995 calculator, works like a charm.

Right? Same here. I thought it would feel weird but honestly it's like my brain finally got bored of the screen.

Oh wow, wait, grayscale??? That actually works for you? I mean, I knew blue light filters were a thing but flipping the whole screen to black and white sounds so extreme. Idk, maybe it's just me but I feel like that would make me more paranoid about missing something in color, like a notification or a photo someone sent. But if it makes your phone literally boring enough to put down, that's genius honestly. I've tried the brightness dimmer tricks and they never stuck for me, my eyes just adjusted. Kudos to you for finding something that actually kills the scroll urge though!
