Phone on the nightstand vs. under the pillow, my sleep tracker says one of them is lying to me
Three weeks ago I started falling asleep to a podcast with my phone face down on the nightstand, and my sleep app logged an average of 7 hours 12 minutes. Then I tried putting it under my pillow on low volume, same podcast, same 11pm bedtime, and the app says I'm only getting 6 hours 20. So is the phone too close to my head messing with the reading, or am I actually waking up more when it's right there? Part of me thinks the under pillow thing is just bad for my neck and the tracker is right for once. Other part of me thinks any wrist or phone tracker is guessing and I should just trust how I feel in the morning. I'm in Denver and my bedroom gets cold, so maybe that's a factor too. What do you all do with your phone when you're actually trying to sleep, on the table or right next to your face?
