Best friend said my bedtime podcast habit was keeping me up, she was right after 6 months
Turns out true crime episodes right before sleep were amping me up, not calming me down, she caught me still scrolling at 2am and called it out. Switched to the same rain sounds from a $3 app I'd been ignoring and now I'm usually under by midnight, has anyone else had someone point out their nightly phone routine was actually working against them?
My sister did the same thing to me years ago with those scary story podcasts. I thought they were helping me wind down but really I was just lying there with my heart pounding waiting for the next jump scare. She told me to try putting on an old baseball game broadcast instead, the announcers voices are so steady and low that it knocks me out in like twenty minutes now. Once I stopped fighting her advice and actually gave it a full week, I noticed I was waking up way less groggy and I stopped dreading bedtime altogether.
