Man, that must have been a heart-stopping moment. Keeping a steady hand when someone flinches like that is seriously tough (I can only imagine the panic). It's why I always make sure to warn people before any sudden moves, but sometimes it can't be helped. Glad you avoided a bad cut, though. That could have been messy.

My brother flinched during a haircut once and I nearly took his ear off. You're right, it's like a weird group panic button gets hit.
