Chose boxed cake mix over scratch for my kid's birthday and honestly the box won
Last Saturday I had two hours to make a cake for my daughter's 7th birthday party and I stood in the aisle at the grocery on Maple Street holding a box of mix and a bag of flour, and I went with the box. Tbh it came out better than any scratch cake I've baked in the past three tries, no sunk middle, no dry edges, and three parents asked for the recipe and I felt weird admitting it. Ngl it stung a little since I've been telling people for years that scratch is the only way. Has anyone else caved on this and did it bother you or was it just me?
