Showerthought: I judged my mom's squeeze-and-pour pancake batter for 10 years and now I owe her an apology
For a decade I mixed my batter by hand with a whisk because I thought the shake bottle stuff was for people who gave up. Then I tried making pancakes at my mom's place in Toledo last month and used her Krusteaz bottle out of pure laziness. The pancakes came out flatter and more even than mine ever do, and I only had to wash a fork instead of a bowl and a whisk, which took 6 minutes off the whole deal. I still mix from scratch on weekends, but on Tuesday mornings the bottle wins and I feel fine about it. Does anyone else have a shortcut they fought for a long time before giving in?
