Man, the part nobody talks about is what that fast rise does to your schedule. A starter that doubles in 4 hours means you have to feed it way more often or it gets hungry and falls flat on you. Mine went from once a day to twice a day when it got that strong, which is basically a pet at that point. The hype is real but it comes with a chore list.
