Took me 3 nights to figure out why my bad movie playlist kept dying halfway through
So my friends and I do a bad movie night every other Friday and I put together a big playlist of trash classics on my laptop to run through the TV. Every single time, around the 40 minute mark, the whole thing would freeze up and we'd have to restart, which killed the vibe right when the good awful stuff was starting. I figured it was the HDMI cable, bought a new one, still froze. Swapped the TV input, still froze. I even cleaned out half my drive thinking storage was the issue. Turns out my laptop was set to go to sleep after 30 minutes of no keyboard or mouse input, and since we were all just watching, it would doze off mid-movie. Three movie nights, like 3 hours of messing with cables and settings, all for one dropdown menu. Now I changed it to never sleep and we got through a full double feature of birdemic and the room with zero problems. Has anyone else had their setup pull some dumb trick like this on movie night?
