The pixelated horror movie that broke my new TV last Saturday

I finally upgraded to a 65-inch OLED last Saturday in Columbus, and thought I'd test it with the worst movie I could find, one of those early 2000s shot-on-digital flicks with effects so bad they loop. The problem is, the movie's blocky artifacts and color banding are so extreme that my TV's processing went into a meltdown, stuttering and freezing on a close-up of a rubber monster for a solid three minutes. I had to hard reset the thing, and now I'm wondering if I should stick to VHS rips for my bad movie nights, since they're grainy but at least they don't crash hardware. But on the other hand, a proper 4K remaster of a terrible movie shows every badly painted set in glorious detail, which is half the fun, right? Has anyone else had their fancy gear completely choke on a low-budget trainwreck, or am I the only one who's accidentally turned a bad movie into a tech disaster?
