PSA: that "so bad it's good" movie your friend swears by is probably just bad
I host a bad movie night every other Friday at my place in Columbus, and for six months I let a buddy pick the lineup because he kept saying he had a gift for it. Then I started keeping a notebook of what we actually watched, and 9 of his 12 picks were straight up boring, not funny bad, just slow and badly lit with nothing to laugh at. The ones that worked, like a 1987 cheese fest with a rubber alien and a guy who yells every line, had a real budget that ran out mid shoot, and you can feel it. A movie where nothing happens for 40 minutes is not a hidden gem, it is just a waste of your Saturday. What is the one film your group keeps forcing on new people that you secretly think is a dud?
