Overheard a guy at the REI return counter saying he sends back boots after every long trip
I was waiting in line at the Denver REI last weekend and heard this guy tell the clerk he returns hiking boots after every 50 mile trip because they're 'worn out'. He said he's been doing it for years with different brands. Am I the only one who thinks that's abusing the system and ruining it for everyone?

Wearing boots 50 miles barely breaks them in. @oscarhart, that guy is why REI now watches returns like hawks.

Doesn't that just make it harder for everyone else who genuinely needs to return stuff?

Doesn't it though? Yeah, it sucks for the rest of us when people abuse return policies and stores start clamping down.
