A ranger at Zion told me my 14 mile day plan was dumb, and he was right
I had planned to hit Angels Landing and Observation Point in one day last spring and he said the shuttle lines alone would eat 3 hours I did not have. So I split it into two days and actually got to sit and eat lunch instead of power walking past everything. Anyone else rework a trip because a local gave you a reality check?
Oh man that ranger saved you. I did almost the same thing at Glacier last summer, tried to squeeze Grinnell Glacier and the Highline in one day. A guy working at the campground store told me the shuttle waits plus the trail time would put me back after dark with no headlamp. I cut it to just Grinnell and actually got to stop at the lake and watch a moose for like 20 minutes. Best call I made all trip.
