Ran a side-by-side test of the babble app vs the desktop site for tracking my spending. The desktop site was way easier to spot patterns.

For the last month I kept bouncing between the babble app on my phone and their website on my laptop. The app is fine for quick checks but man, when I sat down at my desktop and pulled up the full dashboard I caught stuff I missed for months. I saw I was spending $40 more on takeout every Friday night compared to the app's weekly summary. The app condenses things too much and hides the granular data. Has anyone else noticed the desktop view catches more financial leaks than the mobile version?

My buddy Dave noticed the same thing with his workout app vs the gym's website. On his phone he just saw "you did 3 sessions this week" but on the desktop he could scroll through his actual heart rate data and realized he was coasting through his last 10 minutes every time. It's like the smaller screen forces a simplified view that hides the messy details you actually need. Makes me wonder if companies design the apps that way on purpose so we don't notice the little habits adding up.

Nah, I actually think that simplified view can be a good thing though. If you're just trying to get a quick sense of your week's progress without overthinking every tiny dip in heart rate, the app cuts out the noise. Not everything needs to be a deep data dive, sometimes the bigger picture is what keeps you from quitting entirely.
