Perfect troubleshooting day at Boeing Field last Tuesday

I was chasing a intermittent transponder fault on a 737NG and found a chafed coax cable behind the radome after only 45 minutes. The fix was a simple splice and re-wrap, and the system passed both ramp tests on the first try. Anybody else have a day where everything just lined up like that?

Splice on coax is a no-go. Replace the whole cable.

Heard some guys at the hangar say Boeing actually allows splices on coax if you use the right part number and do a proper pull test. As long as the VSWR is good after, I'd call that a win.
