Hot take: that sketchy $499 quote for a Corolla from Dallas to Seattle was actually the best move I ever made
Everyone in this community says to run from the lowest bid, and I get why, because I got burned once back in 2021 on a cheap quote that ballooned by $300 at pickup. So when a broker gave me $499 last month for a Corolla going from Dallas to Seattle, I almost hung up. But the guy stayed on the phone for 20 minutes and explained he was filling a truck that was already heading that way empty, which is why the price was low. My car showed up 5 days later with zero scratches and I paid exactly what he quoted, no games at the door. I know a lot of you will say I just got lucky, and maybe I did, but I think people here lump every low quote into the same bucket when sometimes it is just a truck with empty space. Has anyone else had a cheap quote actually work out, or am I the only one who took that risk and survived it?
