Took me 5 years to realize I was torquing wheel lugs wrong

I used to crank down on the torque wrench until it clicked twice for extra safety. Last Tuesday a guy came in with warped rotors on his F-150 and I figured it was just cheap parts. Turned out he had the same habit and every lug was at 145 ft-lbs instead of 100. That's when I checked my own truck and sure enough, same story. My coworker laughed and showed me the torque spec sticker in the door jamb. Has anyone else been over-tightening for years without noticing the rotor damage?
