PSA: a painter in Bakersfield told me to quit blocking primer with 180 and I still think he was wrong
Had a guy roll through my shop last month, older painter, been at it a long time. He looked at my sanding cart and said straight up "you're wasting money on 180, primer don't care after 320." I told him I like the cut flat before sealer and he just shook his head and walked off. Tried his way on a Civic bumper for 3 panels and the orange peel showed right through the base. Went back to my grits the next day. So what grit do you all actually finish primer at before sealer? I want to know if I'm the stubborn one here.
