Why is this such a rare idea in so many fields? A boss who never leaves the office has no clue what actually slows their team down or what customers are really complaining about. I saw it in retail, where managers hiding in the back never caught the broken processes we dealt with every day. Getting their hands dirty fixes that blind spot fast.

Ever worked for a boss who was great from their office, @webb.daniel? Some managers can listen and fix problems without getting dirty. Maybe the hiding thing is just a bad manager problem, not a location one.
