My first 100 stacked shots of Jupiter came out soft and I finally figured out why
A year ago I was dragging my 8 inch dob out to a field near Modesto and getting single frames of Jupiter that looked like a blurry orange dot. Last night I stacked 100 frames with free software and could actually pick out two cloud bands. Turns out my focus was creeping every few minutes because I never locked the mirror. Curious what focus lock setup other folks use on a dob?
