Finally found the trick for shooting the moon through heat haze

Spent two summers in Phoenix getting blurry moon shots every clear night, then a guy at the local observatory told me to stack short video clips instead of taking single photos. Took 30 seconds of video at 60fps, ran it through stacking software, and the detail was insane. Has anyone else tried this for planets when the seeing is bad?
