So, my wallet went missing at the park (I was totally freaking out). A random person found it and brought it back to me. Tell me about a time a stranger helped you out.

Can we really let a few bad stories make us doubt everyone? I had a flat tire last year in a total downpour, and this guy in a beat-up truck just pulled over and changed it for me. He was soaked, refused any money, and just said to help someone else someday. Most people are just trying to be decent, you know? Those quiet good deeds happen way more than the loud mess-ups.

Ever had a stranger's help totally backfire? I once locked my keys in my car at the grocery store, and a nice old man said he could jimmy the lock with a wire hanger. He bent the hanger all up, scratched my paint, and then set off the car alarm for ten straight minutes. Everyone in the parking lot was staring at us like we were stealing it. I had to call a locksmith anyway, so thanks for nothing, buddy. What's the most awkward help you've ever gotten?

Ugh, @robert582, that's exactly why I'm wary of unsolicited help. People often jump in without knowing what they're doing, making things harder. It's a pattern that turns minor hassles into major dramas.
