PSA: I blew $75 on a "gently used" set of golf clubs off a guy named Dale in a bowling alley parking lot

Half the irons had mismatched grips and the driver head flew off on my second swing at the range. Anyone know a cheap way to spot a lemon before you hand over cash in a parking lot, or do I just need to bring a buddy who actually knows clubs?
