The ice maker that finally made me check the water line pressure

Last month I got a call about a fridge making a constant ticking noise, and I assumed it was the auger motor again. Turned out the water line had a kink behind the cabinet, and the inlet valve was slowly cycling because the pressure dropped below 20 psi. I checked with a cheap gauge I carry, 25 bucks at most, and it saved me from swapping a $140 part that wasn't bad. Now I always test the line pressure before touching the valve on any ice maker complaint. Has anyone else had a similar hidden kink that took them longer to catch than it should have?

Always blamed the valve first, but now checking pressure is step one in my book.
