Just realized the old fridge at my grandma's place in Fresno changed my mind about sealed systems
I was at my grandma's house in Fresno last weekend helping her clean out the garage and she has this fridge from 1987 still running in there. I popped the back panel off just to look and the thing has never been serviced, not once, and the suction line was still frosty cold. I used to tell customers that anything over 15 years old is on borrowed time and not worth a recharge, but this one has been humming along for 35 plus years on the original compressor. Now I'm wondering if I've been too quick to push replacements instead of just doing a clean recharge and letting them ride. Anybody else got a customer with an old unit that just refuses to die?
