Why does nobody talk about getting past the hype to find good anime?

Honestly, I kept picking shows that everyone praised but ended up boring me to tears. Tbh, I wasted weeks on popular series that just didn't click, like with that one fantasy anime all over social media. Ngl, I felt lost because the big discussions only talked about how amazing everything was. I finally figured out to look for smaller threads where people compare it to older, similar series. Now I skip the top comments and read the critical ones buried deep in the forum. It helped me find hidden gems that actually match my taste instead of just following the crowd. Honestly, digging deeper into discussions saved my watch list.

I remember when 'Demon Slayer' blew up and I couldn't get into it after three episodes. Your method of digging into critical threads is spot on, lol. I started checking the 'recommended similar' section on anime sites after reading one-star reviews. It helps to skip the top-rated shows and look for stuff with smaller fanbases that match your taste. Now I find way more gems that don't bore me to death.

Found my favorite band by hating their most popular song first.

My dad played 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on repeat for years. I hated it at first, but now it's a classic to me. Skipping hits means you might miss out on what makes them great.
