Tried watching a subbed anime on my phone during my lunch break at work

I was sitting in my car at the parking lot of that Wendy's on 3rd street, had 30 minutes to eat and catch up on Attack on Titan. About 10 minutes in, a semi truck parked right next to me and the exhaust was so loud I couldnt hear a single line of dialog. Tried cranking the volume to max but it just distorted everything. Ended up having to pause and rewind 4 times before I gave up and just read the subtitles for the rest of the episode. Has anyone else had their immersion completely ruined by random noise pollution while trying to watch?

Man, that's rough. I've had the same thing happen way too many times trying to catch a show in my truck between jobs. You're already fighting with glare on your phone screen and now you can't even hear the audio. Subtitles are a lifesaver but they totally pull you out of the moment when you're trying to watch a big action scene.

Nah, I actually PREFER subtitles. They keep me FOCUSED on the dialogue.
