Hot take: Waiting years for 'Made in Abyss' new seasons tests my love for anime

I binged the first season of 'Made in Abyss' back in college. The ending left me desperate for more, but the next part took forever to arrive. When the movie and new season finally dropped, I had to rewatch everything to remember the plot. It feels like studios enjoy making fans suffer with these gaps. If they can't keep a steady pace, maybe they shouldn't start such complex stories.

Good call, I do something similar now. After waiting so long, my brain just dumps the finer plot points no matter how much I loved the show. I'll skim a few recap videos and then rewatch the last episode or two to jog my memory. It's kinda sad that we need these workarounds, but when a new season takes literal years, what else can you do.

Yeah i just rewatch the last couple episodes instead of the whole thing. Saves time and gets my head back in the game before the new stuff.

Actually, those gaps often lead to a better final product. @the_christopher, skipping a full rewatch might cut out the mood that makes it hit hard.
