Dub vs sub after 200 episodes, I switched sides and it feels weird

I watched all of One Piece dubbed up to episode 200 because I like doing other stuff while watching, but last week I tried subbed on a whim and the emotional scenes hit way harder than I expected. The voice acting felt more raw and I actually caught jokes that got lost in translation, which surprised me since I always thought dub defenders were just being lazy. Has anyone else flipped their preference this late into a show, and did it change how you rewatch older episodes?
