My gouge skipped and carved a 2 inch scar across the walnut box lid
Was finishing a small walnut box last Saturday in my garage and the gouge caught a knot I didn't see, slicing a 2 inch gash right across the lid. I sat there mad for a bit, then glued in a thin strip of lighter wood to fill it instead of trashing the piece. Honestly the patch looks kind of cool now, like a little streak. Has anyone else leaned into a mistake like that instead of starting over?
