Just realized my handwriting changed completely after 6 months of daily journaling with a fountain pen

I switched from ballpoint to a Lamy Safari last January and my letters went from cramped scribbles to something almost legible. Has anyone else noticed their penmanship shift after sticking with one writing tool for a while?

Haha my handwriting went from "doctor's prescription" to "maybe a serial killer's confession note" when I got serious about fountain pens. It's WILD how just the feel of a different pen rewires your whole hand. I actually had to retrain myself to hold the pen looser because the Lamy nib just glides so smooth you don't need to death grip it like a ballpoint. Now my letters are actually spaced out and not overlapping like some kind of panic attack on paper. Fountain pens are basically handwriting therapy that costs $30 but feels WAY more bougie than it should.

Man that death grip thing is REAL. I still catch myself doing it sometimes with regular pens at work. But here's what I wanna know - did you have to completely change how you sit or where you put the paper too? Because I started angling my notebook more diagonal and it made a bigger difference than I expected. Like the whole arm has to move different with a fountain pen compared to jamming a ballpoint into paper.
