I planted carrots in a bucket on my fire escape and got 11 tiny weird ones
Last April I filled an old 5 gallon bucket with dirt on my fire escape in Queens and dropped in some carrot seeds, mostly as a joke since I have killed every houseplant I've owned. Six weeks later I pulled up 11 stubby orange things that looked more like fat thumbs than carrots, and they tasted sweeter than anything from the store. Anyone else grow root veggies in containers, and do they ever get longer than two inches?

Six weeks is short, carrots usually need 10+.
