I finally swapped my fountain pen for a pencil for journaling and it felt weird

So I've been using a Lamy Safari with a fine nib for my daily journal for like 6 months. But last week I grabbed a regular #2 pencil from my kid's backpack because the pen ran out of ink. I gotta say, the scratchy feel and the way the graphite smudges on my fingers made me miss the smooth flow of ink, but erasing mistakes was kinda nice. Has anyone else switched between tools like that and found one works better for your brain or just for the feel?

The scratchy feel is exactly why pencils are better, you can actually feel the words forming.

Nodding so hard at this. @miles_garcia hit on something real - we're losing all the little textures in life that make things feel human.

Wait, you actually prefer the scratchy feel? I always thought pencils were just for erasability, but @miles_garcia has me rethinking my whole notebook setup.
