Paper logs capture the messy, human side of maintenance that digital forms erase. Stains and scribbles in margins often show how fixes actually happened on the fly. You miss that whole layer of story with a perfect digital record.

You make a solid case for paper logs, @skyler854. But here's something I've seen: when a new guy tries to read those stained logs, they often miss key details because the notes are too personal. Digital systems could let us add photos or quick voice memos to capture the on-the-fly fixes without the decay problem. Imagine snapping a pic of a temporary fix and tagging it in the log, so the story is kept but in a clear way. That way, the human element isn't lost, just stored differently for better access. We might be clinging to paper for nostalgia when tech could do the job better if we set it up right.

Lol you got me there, I'm the worst about that. My old paper logs look like a toddler got into the coffee and then tried to write down engine serial numbers. I once dropped an entire sausage biscuit on a page, and now that grease spot is my official reminder to check the gear retraction system. Maybe my mess is exactly why digital is looking pretty good.
