Preheating trick for frozen egg rolls changed everything
I kept getting soggy frozen egg rolls. Tried every temp setting. Then I started preheating the air fryer for 5 minutes empty before putting them in. Now they come out crispy all the way through. Anybody else do the empty preheat thing for frozen foods?

Wait, really? I mean preheating just wastes electricity unless you're baking bread or something. Frozen egg rolls are already cooked, they just need to get hot, not go through some whole science experiment.

Oh come ON @the_kim, so what you're telling me is I've been standing there for 10 minutes like a fool waiting for my oven to beep while my frozen taquitos just sit there getting sad? Next you'll tell me I don't need to preheat for pizza rolls either and my whole life has been a lie. Honestly at this point I'm starting to think microwaves are just fancy cup warmers and we're all being scammed by Big Oven.

Hold up, you really never preheat for pizza rolls? I mean, I get that they'll cook either way, but the texture is totally different. If you don't preheat, the outside gets all soft and chewy instead of crispy. It's like eating a hot pillow. Also, microwaves definitely have their place for things like leftovers or soup, but they're not just cup warmers. They're pretty good at steaming veggies too, just don't expect them to crisp anything up. That's not their job.
