Frozen fries vs fresh cut in the air fryer, no contest

I finally tested frozen bag fries against fresh cut ones I made myself. Did three batches last Thursday with the same cook time and temp. The fresh ones came out crispy on the outside and soft inside, while the frozen ones turned out dry and bland. Even after adding oil and salt to the frozen ones they couldn't match the texture. Anyone else find fresh beats frozen for most air fryer stuff?

My 5th batch of frozen fries last week looked like sad little twigs from a crime scene. I swear the air fryer sucks the soul right out of them no matter how much seasoning I dump on. Fresh cut wins every time even if I almost chop my finger off making them.

ugh yeah the air fryer thing is real. i tried making sweet potato fries in mine last week and they came out looking like burnt matchsticks. idk what it is about them, maybe it's just me but fresh cut always has that better texture. i actually sliced my thumb open pretty bad one time trying to cut a potato into uniform sticks, had to wrap it in paper towel and finish the batch one-handed. the fries were still better than anything frozen could ever be though.

5
