Air fryer basket got stuck on my dehydrate setting last night

I was trying to dry apple slices for 6 hours and at hour 4 the basket seized up so bad I had to pry it out with a butter knife. Has anyone else had their basket warp from the heat on those long dehydrate cycles?

Wait, are you sure it was the heat that warped the basket and not just the way you loaded it? lol I've done the same thing with my air fryer on dehydrate mode and it was fine for a full 8 hour batch of beef jerky. The thing is, those baskets are usually made of stainless steel or coated steel, so they shouldn't warp from just 140 degrees. I think what probably happened is you had the apple slices packed too tight or layered weird, and the natural shrinkage pulled everything together. When stuff dries it contracts, and if the slices were overlapping they could have locked the basket up. Next time try spreading them out more, maybe do two batches. That should keep the basket from seizing up even on long cycles.

Oh yeah, my friend had the same issue with her air fryer and it was totally how she stacked the stuff.
