Serious question, did a 3 hour power outage at a demo day in Tucson change how anyone else runs their setups?
I was at a small AI demo day in Tucson last week and about 40 minutes in the power cut out for close to 3 hours. Four teams were showing off live models and every single one of them died immediately because nobody had a fallback, no offline build, no battery, nothing. The one presenter who kept going was a guy running a small model on a laptop with a printed cheat sheet for when the wifi dropped. I always assumed the fancy cloud setups were the safe bet, but watching $10k of hardware go dark made me rethink that. Since then I keep a local copy of my demo and a charged battery pack in my bag at all times. Anyone here actually build their whole setup to run offline, or am I just being paranoid after one bad day in Tucson?
